Tom Gordon

Since 1986, Tom has coached and trained teams, groups, and individuals at all ages and abilities, for both competitive sports and general fitness. He currently coaches the Team Fitness community programs in Los Altos and Menlo Park, California. He also has coached over 1,500 executives at leadership development programs for Cisco Systems, Silicon Graphics and a number of other Bay area corporations.

A three sport athlete in high school in southern California, Tom was recruited to play baseball at Stanford University, but ended up competing on football and rugby teams. In 1977, the Stanford University rugby team was the top all-collegiate team at the Monterey National Tournament.

Tom graduated as a civil engineer from Stanford, and became president of Traditional Homes, Inc., a custom home construction company, building projects in the mid-peninsula area between Woodside and Los Gatos. After nearly 21 years, he sold the company in January, 1999, to become a full time member of the Team Fitness coaching staff. In January of 2002, Tom became a co-owner of Team Fitness, and in 2005 purchased the company.

Tom serves as a director on the board of a local Christian counseling group. He has been married to his wife Lorry since 1977, and has four children and two grandchildren. He is not currently coaching at the high school varsity level, where he coached for over a decade, but has enjoyed watching his former athletes compete in the collegiate and pro ranks.
